Captiol Records gives LeToya no more “Love”

It’s been reported that Capitol Records has decided to stop funding LeToya Luckett’s latest album release “Lady Love”, and in the process started a feud between them and her fans.

Even though the album sold just 33,000 copies its first week, it still topped the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Album Chart giving Luckett her second #1 album. Her new single “Regret” featuring Ludacris is making serious moves up the charts and already in the Top 20 on Billboard’s R&B/ Hip-Hop Airplay chart and most likely will hit the Top 10 next week. All of this and label still hasn’t given the song an official release date.

With Capitol’s history of acting shady towards their Urban department (can you say J. Holiday, Avant, Cherish, or Bobby Valentino?), the fans have taken matters into their own hands by creating a set of petitions telling them they need to step up and support this project.

Captiol Records didn’t do any promotion for the album, picked a nice but bland lead single, did nothing with the second single, and now they don’t want to do anything even though the new single is about to blow up. Usually I think online petitions are pointless but given the circumstances and that they will be given to the label, I have to side with the fans on this one. “Lady Love” is easily one of the best R&B albums to drop this year (and I wasn’t even into LeToya before this album) Capitol would be crazy to let this album go. And I’m ready to see LeToya looking sexy in the video for “Regret”! Hahaha
