Halle Berry Names Her Daughter

Oscar winner Halle Berry is on set for the role of her lifetime—motherhood. The 41-year-old actress delivered her first child, Nahla Ariela Aubrey, on Sunday in Los Angeles and “is doing great,” according to her publicist Meredith O’Sullivan.

Recently, the new mom told Access Hollywood, "We didn't have a name picked out until just before we left the hospital. For us, it was hard to name the most important person in our life until we met her."

It is also the first child for the father, 32-year-old Canadian model Gabriel Aubrey. Berry and Aubrey met in 2005 during a fashion shoot for a Versace ad. Although Berry has no plans to marry, during an interview last October with Oprah she revealed, “In a way, I feel more married now than I ever did in two marriages," said Berry. “He really understands that the spiritual connection is so much more important than the paper and the pomp and the circumstance and the ceremony. And that feels important to us."
