Fantasia Barrino sex tape scandal

Does anyone else find it strange how differently the response has been to two of the music industry’s biggest marital scandals in 2010? On one hand, we have Alicia Keys who was accused by Mashonda Tifrere, super producer Swizz Beatz’s ex-wife, of being a home wrecker and breaking up their marriage.

Then there’s the Fantasia Barrino sex tape scandal. Surprisingly, the excitement and intrigue leaned more towards Fantasia Barrino’s adulterous relationship, landing her a prime time spot on CNN’s “Nancy Grace” on Monday, Aug. 9. According to reports, she’s allegedly having a salacious affair with the two-timing Antwaun Cook, whom she met at a T-Mobile store where he works according to his scorned wife, Paula Cook.

It’s really surprising how traditional news sources ignored Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz's scandalous affair and praised them when they married quietly on July 31 at a private home on the Mediterranean Sea.

Based on the commission of the crime of adultery, both of these celebrities should be wearing the letter “S” on their chests. Neither of them deserves a pass. Infidelity, philandering, cheating, adultery, being unfaithful … no matter the term, it’s wrong. In both of these cases, the wives are faced with heartache, diminished self-worth and patronization by family, friends and the media. It will take time for both Mashonda Tifrere and Paula Cook to overcome the betrayal. The best that we can hope for is that these sisters will stay strong and on their knees, because when they go out in public, turn on the television and surf the Internet, there will be constant reminders
